| | Okay... so it's been almost two years. What's happened in the life of Snicker Furfoot? Well, lessee... I'm no longer active in Amtgard, I broke up with Alice (of course you saw that in the previous post), I captured the heart of, and am madly in love with, my own personal song, Aria, added to the family, finished paying off my car, hit 100,000 miles, quit my craptacular check-bouncing job, started a new craptacular better-benefits and no-bounced checks job, quit doing the webcomic, started doing the webcomic again, started working for an MMORPG development company in my spare time, started learning the violin, and generally living life one day at a time!
*breathes*
So, let's cover some details.... First... meet Aria, my love, my light, my life. She has made me so very happy that sometimes I forget to breathe. She's beautiful, friendly, caring, fun-loving, and makes me feel like the world is mine to play with like a marble. She loves to play with her crystal stix, which she occasionally lights on fire... She also hula-hoops, sometimes at the same time, and sometimes the hoop is on fire, too!! We've had amazing adventures together (someday, I'll post the story of how we got her van to Texas), and now I'm missing her something terrible... She's on the road travelling to Renaissance Faires around the country. She's in Arizona right now (has been for a couple of months), and I don't get to see her again until next weekend. April CANNOT get here fast enough!!
Along with Aria, came her cat, Val. Unfortunately, Val had to be fixed, something we took care of quickly, but not soon enough. She seemed to slow down a LOT after that, and started putting on the pounds, so we decided a friend for her might help. And that's where Little Bit came in. Little Bit is a pint-size terror, but they have fun. No really... I'm sure they're just playing! (In order, that's Val, Little Bit, Val tripping Little Bit, Little Bit leaping on Val, and finally, Val pinning Little Bit for teh win!)

My car! 100,000 miles and still going strong. I'm ecstatic that it's finally paid for and all mine. My first car, and of course, my favourite. The poor thing has survived five major accidents and still gets 38/45mpg (city/hwy). If you've never driven a Prius, I highly recommend them. It's a smooth ride, quiet, comfortable, fuel-efficient, reliable, handy in floodwaters (they're very hard, if not impossible, to flood out) and they're apparently bigger on the inside.... I moved my furniture from one apartment to another using only the Prius! I've been thinking about trading it in, but I have a lot of debt to deal with first.
I'll update more about some of the other details in the future, but for now, just a final note. I've started a new sleep style, called Polyphasic sleeping. I'm hoping it will keep me more alert at work, as well as give me more time to do things like blogging . That being said, here's my first official polyphasic sleep report: My schedule is something like this: Wake at 5:45am, leave for work by 6:40. Lunch is around 11:00am, so I take a nap then (30-40 minutes), then back to work. Leave work at 4:30ish, head home, nap for 30-45 minutes. Get up, work until between 10:00 and midnight, then another 30-45 minute nap. Get up around work for a couple more hours, then bed by 3am for my "core sleep". It's not as "neat" a schedule as it needs to be yet, but I'm still in the adjustment phase: training the cats to leave me alone during naps, dropping off to sleep faster, becoming more aware of my body's sleep signals... Speaking of which.... Nap time!!! I *WILL* be updating again in the future! A lot more regularly, because I plan on keeping track of how long I manage the "Everyman Sleep schedule." Wish me luck!
